We are CHIA. Our name originates from the Chibcha word for “moon”, a beautiful language spoken by the Colombian Muisca tribe. CHIA is a family owned business that began in Corpus Christi, Texas in 2017. Our inventory consists of 100% Colombian made artisanal products, such handbags and jewelry. In 2019 we have launched our online marketplace with the hopes to continue our mission to spread Colombian culture through our one of a kind products. We have partnered with hardworking women artisans from different regions of Colombia, such as women in the Guacamayas village and Wayuu Native American women. Our products come from their expert hands, with knowledge and skills that have been passed down through generations. Our products have strong cultural meaning and are also the main source of income for thousands of families from rural areas with little industrial development. Chia’s goal is to champion the vision of Colombian women artisans by directly supporting them and their unique and authentic work. We are looking to make a difference in their community through the purchase of fair trade Colombian items by cutting the middle men and putting more money in the artisans' pockets. Through our products, Chia hopes to share a little bit about Colombian culture as well as make you fall in love with the magic of Colombia.
